Steamed Bread Crabs
Ingredients:
French crabs, salt, minced ginger, soy sauce, sugar, MSG, sesame oil, and aromatic vinegar, all in small amounts.
Instructions:
Use a toothbrush or brush to thoroughly clean the crabs under running water (you can trim off any muddy hairs on the large claws). Place the crabs in a container with their bellies facing up to prevent the crab roe from leaking out. You can add a little salt for enhanced flavor.
In a small bowl, mix the minced ginger with cooked soy sauce, sugar, MSG, and sesame oil. In another small bowl, prepare some vinegar for dipping.
Steam the crabs over heat for 15-20 minutes until the crab shells turn bright red and the crab meat is cooked. Serve with the prepared vinegar and sauce on the side.
The bright orange crab roe and the tender white crab meat are irresistibly delicious.
